My journey with Jesus started as far back as I can remember. I was saved and baptized at age 7. The only baptistry we had was a creek, and this was November. So some may say I got off to a chilly start. Yet, God was, is, and will always be faithful. God allowed my husband David and I to be a part of New Horizon the day it began. We had metal chairs, dirty carpet, a "give away piano", and red hymnals. God sure didn't mind those amenities because his Holy Spirit was already waiting for us when the Church began. What a blessing the church has been to me, especially with the illness and passing of David. I have never felt alone (lonely maybe), but not alone. This has been such an amazing journey each lap of the race; racing so that New Horizon could be a light for Jesus in this beautiful valley. To God be the glory for great things he has done.
Only (pastor) Josh is a newer kid on the block then me, but no one is older. Maturity and wisdom we won't discuss. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as an assistant which is different than any job I've ever done. I'm not sure yet what God has for me in this role. Perhaps, I am just the challenge Pastor Chris needs to keep him humble. I have had the privilege of working with youth for 55 years. I am humbled that God can still find a purpose for me in working, where I have an opportunity to share Jesus each day.
